"Christian Counseling" refers to the Biblical foundation on which our counseling is based. The Old and New Testament writings provide us with foundational knowledge about who we are, who God is, and how we are designed to relate to God, each other and creation. They also give us insight into the core problems of the human soul.
A Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is a counselor who is licensed by the state of Texas. The licensed individual has completed a graduate degree in one of the counseling fields, passed the Licensed Professional Counselor board exam, and completed the 3,000 required supervised intern hours. Licenses are maintained through required continuing education.
A Licensed Professional Counselor Intern (LPC) is a counselor who has a graduate degree in a counseling field, has passed the required state board exam in counseling, and is working toward completing 3,000 hours of supervised counseling work.
A Pastoral Counselor is a counselor who has mental health training as well as specialized training in the spiritual components of humanity. They are noted for helping individuals, couples and families draw upon their spiritual resources in order to achieve healing and wholeness both within themselves and in relation to God and other people.
